1 Day Wire Rope Inspection course
Target Group
For those candidates who require a working knowledge of wire ropes and involved in the in service inspection of the rope and terminal fittings
Aim
The aim of the course is to provide identified candidates with:
- The skills and knowledge to apply the statutory requirements of BS EN 12385 for examination and removal of wire rope in service.
- A thorough understanding of wire rope construction performance and factors causing rope deterioration.
- A thorough knowledge of the safe use and correct handling of wire rope in accordance with their use and the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act.

By the end of the course candidates will be able to:
- Apply the statutory requirements for examination of wire rope
- Understand terminology, construction and characteristics and safe handling
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Carry out wire rope inspection
